At 9:08 am on April 15, 2025, flags’ waving along the Yangtze River and Xiachao Lake joyfully, Jiangxi New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter called NJZ) held a grand launching ceremony for the 135-meter duplex stainless steel chemical tanker (NJZ1122) for Dutch shipowner. Mr. Robert-Jan Zimmerman, the General Manager, Mr. Sjaak Oudakker, the technical Director, of MERCURIUS SHIPBUILDING, the Dutch shipowner, Mr. Tian Bin, the Vice President of Lloyd's Register Great China, Mr. Deng Fanghua, the Deputy General Manager of Ruichang State-owned Assets Holding Group, Mr. Dong Xuehai, the Director of the High-tech Zone Branch of Hua Xia Bank, Mr. Xu Haowei, the Chief of the Corporate Finance Department of Industrial Bank Jiujiang Branch, and Mr. Liu Yingen, the Project Manager of Quantum Holdings, all attended the launching ceremony. Many guests gathered to witness this important moment.

The 135-meter duplex stainless steel chemical tanker is a high-tech, high-value-added, and promising special vessel in the global market. With a length of 135 meters, the cargo tanks area adopts cofferdam system at fore and aft, and 18 cargo tanks are fully integrated into the hull. It features lightweight structure, precise manufacturing, corrosion-resistant materials, and high-strength materials, capable of carrying up to 300 kinds of liquid cargo. The construction model is also innovative. NJZ completes the main hull structure, while the Dutch shipyard is responsible for commissioning. Both parties leverage their strengths to jointly create high-quality vessels.

Mr. Robert-Jan Zimmerman, the General Manager of MERCURIUS SHIPBUILDING, said that this is not just a vessel but a crystallization of trust, teamwork, and international cooperation. He highly praised the construction capabilities of NJZ, stating that he is proud to have found such a reliable and capable partner in NJZ and expressed confidence in establishing a strong and long-lasting cooperative relationship with NJZ. Mr. Wu Qiuping, the General Manager of NJZ delivered an enthusiastic speech at the ceremony. Looking back on the shipbuilding process, he said that NJZ spared utmost efforts to increase investment, update relevant equipment, and comprehensively renovate and optimize the factory area, effectively improving production efficiency and product quality. NJZ people demonstrated extremely high professional skills and dedication, working overtime to ensure the vessel was completed on time with high quality. The shipowner's site team and Lloyd's Register provided excellent technical support and strict quality control during the project cooperation, providing a solid guarantee for the high-quality delivery of the vessel.

General Manager Mr. Wu Qiuping emphasized that since its establishment, NJZ has actively responded to the 1269 action plan of Jiujiang City, deeply implemented the strategic deployment of Ruichang City to "decisively develop large-scale industries, open up new tracks, and strive to build a vibrant new city on the banks of the Yangtze River", and has always been deeply engaged in the marine equipment market, committed to playing a leading role in the shipbuilding industry of Jiujiang City. The successful contract signing of the 135-meter duplex stainless steel chemical tanker is attributed to the strong endorsement of the shareholders, the influence of the NJZ brand in the European market, and the support and trust of Ruichang State-owned Assets Holding Group, Industrial Bank, and Hua Xia Bank. Firecrackers were set off and fireworks soared into the sky. With the announcement by Mr. Meng Yunsheng, the Vice General Manager of NJZ, that the launching ceremony officially began, the vessel, which embodies the efforts of all parties involved, slowly slid into the water for launching. This is the first export vessel launched by NJZ and also the first high-tech and high-value-added vessel delivered to the European client. It marks that NJZ has fully mastered the construction technology and construction process of duplex stainless steel vessels, laying a solid foundation for expanding the European market. As of now, NJZ is developing well, with 28 orders from both domestic and foreign markets, 12 vessels under construction. By the end of April,2025, another three vessels will be delivered. NJZ will continue to uphold the spirit of craftsmanship, constantly improve its technical level and construction capacity, deepen international cooperation, and become the most technologically advanced and largest production-scale high-end special vessel and marine engineering manufacturing base in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, providing global customers with higher-quality vessel products and services.
